Proscenium Circus

Mrs. Potter - Proscenium Circus

Meets the first Monday of each month at 2:30 in the auditorium.
Proscenium Circus (PC), the drama club at AB, welcomes all students who are interested in any aspect of creating theater. This ranges from performance, to design and technical production, to the business of producing a show. The primary focus of PC is learning and doing. Through this organization, students have many opportunities to expand and enrich their knowledge of theater arts by:
" Performing in a variety of productions
" Participating in ongoing special classes and workshops
" Being actively involved in the design, creation, and production of shows
Performance in PC includes acting, scene study, singing, dancing, stage movement, fight choreography, improvisation, directing, playwriting, and drama competitions. Design and technical aspects of PC include set design, set painting and decoration, lighting, sound, stage managing, props, costuming, hair and make up design. Theater business includes publicity, ticket sales, house management, and production assistance. PC meetings are generally held every month and often feature special guests and topics. Meeting information is posted on the web site www.abdrama.org The meetings are open to any student with an interest in theater.



Others

The Band and Color Guard, Jazz Band, Concert Choir, Madrigal Singers, and Women's Ensemble are courses offered during the school day. However, they are considered part of the extracurricular program since students represent the school in various performances and competitions.
