Chapter 70

School Committee members testified before the Massachusetts Joint Education Committee with a proposal for increased state aid for education. Acton and Acton-Boxborough School Committee is proposing a minimum of $2000 per student in state aid for students in Massachusetts no matter where they live. Currently Massachusetts students are receiving $576 per student in the wealthiest communities, and almost $10,000 in the highest. Acton and Acton-Boxborough receives $1142 per student. If Acton and Acton-Boxborough were to receive $2000 per student we would receive an additional $4 million dollars in state aid.
