The term three project will focus on looking at organisms in a specific ecological community and analyzing how organisms in different kingdoms depend on each other in their ecological communities.
To complete this project you will perform the following tasks:
- Select a particular location on Earth from one of the following choices:
For the location you have selected, find and describe one ecological community in that region.
Within that ecological community, identify and describe four organisms from four different kingdoms.
For each of the four organisms, describe two different ecological relationships (mutualism, commensalism, parasitism, competition, or predator/prey) this organism has with other members of the community. When you are done with this step, you should have 8 relationships (no more than two should be predator prey), and 12 organisms described.
Lastly connect, using ecological relationships, the 4 different groups of organisms you have created in steps 3 & 4.(See the Example)
Select a format for presentation. You may want to use a powerpoint presentation, a poster, a research paper, or some other format to present your research. Make sure the format you wish to use is acceptable to your instructor.
