Overview Community Service Program

The Community Service Program at ABRHS publicizes, encourages and recognizes student volunteer activities.

How do students find out about volunteer opportunities?

• Opportunities are listed on the school web site (http://ab.mec.edu/cgi-bin/abrhs-volunteer) and on the community service bulletin board in the Counseling Center.

• Students who fill out a Volunteer Interest form receive notification of opportunities in their areas of interest.

• Volunteer opportunities are featured at the Activities Fair in September, the Volunteer Opportunities Fair in January and the Summer Volunteer Opportunities Fair in June. These “fairs” are held in the school during lunch periods.

What kinds of volunteering are available to students?

• Students can volunteer individually or in groups.
• Students can volunteer at the high school or in the community.
• Students can volunteer during the school year and during the summer.
• Some volunteer opportunities require a continuing commitment. Others are one-time projects.
