Then and Now: South Acton Post Office![]()
The South Acton Post Office, also called the "Old Post Office" was built in 1852 by James Tuttle & Company. The first floor was a tailor's shop. The second floor was called "Central Hall." The Universalist Society met in Central Hall until Exchange Hall was built in 1860. Central Hall was also used as a classroom for the Acton Public Schools at different times. The Post Office remained in this bulding until the 1960s. The Acton Post Office was originally located in a building that was removed when the bridge was built. |
