APS-AB Curriculum Initiatives
APS District Grade Level Meetings
The APS District Grade Level Meetings provide opportunities for educators K through 6 to review curricular objectives, explore and collaborate around curricular strengths and needs, and to share effective teaching strategies and materials.
During the 2006-2007 school year, these meetings focused on sharing writing rubrics and benchmark papers and discussing effective lessons to teach challenging mathematical concepts. At the sixth grade meeting, seventh grade English language arts and mathematics teachers were invited to take part in the discussions. In addition, many organizations, committees and departments shared how they enhance and support our students' learning.
