Acton Public Schools Preschool Application
Beginning January 15th applications for September 2008 will be accepted. Applications are accepted on a first come first serve basis and should be accompanied by the registration fee of $25 (checks to: Acton Boxborough Regional School District). Visits to the program can be arranged upon request. Children living in Acton and neighboring communities may apply.
Located in bright attractive space at the Administration Building (the former Merriam School), this inviting early childhood program serves children, ages 3 to 5 years old. Children who are developing typically and those with identified special education needs learn together side by side. The curriculum is based on developmentally appropriate practices and the MA Early Learning Guidelines encouraging the growth of each child at their individual pace. It is a fun place to play and learn!
Both morning and afternoon half-day sessions and one full-day session for 4-year olds will be held four days each week. Generally, the younger students are in the morning classes and those eligible for Kindergarten the following year come in the afternoon. The Preschool follows the Acton Public Schools calendar.
Parents are responsible for providing transportation for their children. Tuition is charged on a sliding fee scale. The full tuition rate for the 2007-2008 school years is $284/month for half-day and $550/month for full-day tuition paid over ten months. Information about the sliding fee scale is available upon request.
For an application to be complete the following information must be submitted:
- dated application
- birth certificate (a copy is fine)
- up-to-date immunization record, including the new chicken pox vaccination or written proof from your physician that your child has had the chicken pox. (due by 8/1/08)
- verification/results of a lead screening
- a current report of a physical examination (due by 8/1/08)
- Authorization for Release form
- Photo Release form
- CORI Forms for those parents who plan to volunteer in their child's class in any way.
