Citizens Technology Advisory Committee

During the Fall semester of the 1999-2000 academic year, former Superintendent of Schools Isa Zimmerman convened an advisory group of citizens to review the progress made under the school's 1996-2001 Technology Plan, and to advise her on matters relating to the development of a new 5-year Technology Plan. The advisory group is similar in composition to the Citizen's Technology Advisory Committee (CTAC) that Superintendent Zimmerman had created to help draft the original Technology Plan, so it has been named CTAC. Members of the committee were selected by Superintendent Zimmerman to provide her with a range of perspective on the state-of-the-art in technological infrastructure and instructional integration. At the outset of the 2000-2001 academic year, Superintendent Ryan requested that the committee continue its work.

The charge to CTAC was to examine the original 5-year Technology Plan's vision statement, instructional goals and objectives, and technical infrastructure and equipment goals to determine to what extent they had been achieved, and to make recommendations regarding any changes CTAC felt should be considered in drafting the new 5-year Technology Plan.

On January 4, 2001 CTAC presented a preliminary report to the School Committee. The whole report is available on line.
