State Technology Plan and Standards
Plan
The Massachusetts' Office of Instructional Technology supports schools in using technology to increase student achievement and technological literacy. The group assists districts in technology planning, distributes technology grants, develops recommended standards for technology access and literacy, and reports on districts' progress in meeting these standards.

The Educational Technology Advisory Council (ETAC) has released the first Massachusetts STaR Chart (School Technology and Readiness Chart) to support schools in developing their technology plans. - EdTech Reports:

Standards
- Recommended PreK-12 Instructional Technology Standards:
These standards were developed to support and advance Massachusetts's educational reform in learning and teaching. This document was created and revised by teachers, administrators, and other educators in prekindergarten through grade 12, in collaboration with staff from the Massachusetts Department of Education. The standards were approved by the Massachusetts Board of Education on October 23, 2001.
- Technology Self-Assessment Tool (TSAT):
TSAT allows teachers to determine their own levels of technology proficiency and professional development needs. TSAT also allows schools and districts to access aggregated data from their teachers in order to better focus their professional development efforts.
