ABOUT THE COUNSELING DEPARTMENT

Philosophy of the Department

The Counseling Department's mission is to support students' academic, personal, social-emotional, and career growth. We believe that we are most effective if we look at the whole student and address, to the best of our ability, a student's growth and development as an adolescent. Our role is to act as an advocate and a liaison for our students across settings. We help students to integrate all of the aspects of their ever-changing lives and to begin to develop a sense of:

• who they are
• the direction they would like to take
• the knowledge of their own passions and goals

Personnel

The Junior High School Counseling Department is comprised of:

• 3 full time counselors
• 1.4 school psychologists
• 1 full time counseling secretary
